The average price of a hull insurance policy in Russia increased by 21.8% in 10 months of 2024: from Br34.9 thousand in 2023 to Br42.5 thousand. Experts of the financial marketplace "Compare" told "Izvestia" on November 22.

"This growth is largely due to an increase in the cost of both the cars themselves and spare parts and encourages drivers to switch to boxed products with a higher deductible and more favorable cost," the analysts explained.

At the same time, according to their data, during this period there was a record growth in sales of hull insurance policies - by more than 360% compared to the same period last year. In 89% of cases the hull insurance policy was issued for a year. The top ten car brands, whose drivers most often purchased hull insurance, are Chery, Lada, Haval, Geely, Kia, BMW, Omoda, Hyundai, Volkswagen and Skoda.

At the same time, the average price of MTPL insurance policy decreased by 7.6% compared to the same period of 2023 - from 7130 to 6622 rubles respectively. Experts predict an increase in prices in 2025 to the level of 2023 due to the rise in prices of materials and spare parts.

Drivers from Moscow, Krasnodar Krai, Moscow, Sverdlovsk and Samara regions most often issued MTPL policies in 2024. The top ten car brands included Lada, Toyota, Kia, Hyundai, Nissan, Renault, Volkswagen, Chevrolet, Ford and Mitsubishi.

Earlier in the day it was reported that the least number of car owners who have the maximum discount for accident-free driving on MTPL, live in the republics of Crimea and Dagestan. The largest share of car owners with the maximum discount is recorded in Moscow.

November 20, it became known that the State Duma adopted in the first reading of the bill, which introduces the possibility of registration of an accident on the portal "Gosuservices" in the presence of a MTPL policy. With the adoption of the document drivers of vehicles involved in an accident can issue a notice of the accident without calling a police officer and filling out paper forms.
