Court keeps in custody Ogloblin, ex-chief of the Defense Ministry's Communications Directorate, in custody

The Second Western District Military Court has remanded in custody Alexander Ogloblin, former head of the Communications Planning Department (1st Department) of the Main Communications Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces. This was reported by the Izvestia correspondent from the courtroom on November 22.

The suspect appealed to the judge with a request to change his measure of restraint not involving imprisonment, but he refused to speak. The investigation, in turn, pointed out the impossibility of applying another measure, except arrest, because of the risk of Ogloblin's influence on witnesses.

As a result, the court left the defendant in custody.

It became known about the initiation of criminal proceedings against the ex-head of the Department of Communications on October 28. He is charged with taking a bribe on a large scale (part 6 of article 290 of the Criminal Code of the RF). It is about fraud in the performance of the state defense order.
