In Pskov, restoration of the Church of Nikola of Usokhi, a cultural monument of federal significance and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, continues. On the progress of work ANO "Revival of objects of cultural heritage in Pskov (Pskov region)" reports in its Telegram-channel on Friday, November 22.

"Painting of the belfry and replacement of the roofing is being carried out, as well as repairing of rubble masonry on the walls of the quadrangle, erection of the walls of the northern aisle. The lowering of the territory to the historical mark is completed," - stated in the message.

Also, specialists are now carrying out work on the removal of the heating mains and the device of storm water drainage to divert water from the territory of the church, clarifies the Pskov news tape.

According to the Pskov Newsline, the Church of St. Nicholas of Usokhi is located in the Middle Town and is an Orthodox Konchan temple. The stone church was first mentioned in 1371, but in 1535-536 the dilapidated church was dismantled and a new one was erected in its place, which exists to this day.

The church was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2019 as one of the brightest examples of the Pskov school of architecture.
