The State Duma Committee on State Construction has recommended the second reading of a bill on fines for personal data leaks. The document was published on Friday, November 22, on the website of the system of ensuring legislative activity.

"To recommend to the State Duma to adopt in the second reading the draft federal law №502113-8 "On Amending the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation." <...> Propose to the Council of the State Duma to include the above bill in the draft order of the State Duma for consideration in the second reading," the document says.

For officials it is proposed to establish fines from 800 thousand to 1.2 million rubles, adds "Gazeta.Ru".

Earlier, on November 19, the Minister of Digital Development of the country Maksut Shadaev during the inter-industry conference "Customer safety comes first" said that in Russia may implement databases of biometric voice samples of telephone scammers as a measure of protection against cybercrime. It was noted that telephone connections with a fraudster whose voice has already been registered in a unified database would be terminated and blocked.
