- The Russian Defense Ministry reported the successful defeat of an OPK facility in Dnipro by Oreshnik

On November 21, the Russian Armed Forces struck one of the defense industrial complex (DIC) facilities in the Ukrainian city of Dnipro (Dnipropetrovsk until 2016) in response to Ukraine's use of U.S. and British long-range weapons. According to the Russian Defense Ministry on November 22, all the combat units reached their designated target.
"For the first time in combat conditions, a medium-range ballistic missile in nuclear-free hypersonic equipment Oreshnik was successfully used in a strike." The purpose of the launch has been achieved. All combat units reached the target object," the agency said in a statement.
Strikes were also carried out on temporary deployment points of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), nationalist formations and foreign mercenaries.
On the evening of November 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Ukraine had used Western long-range weapons against the Russian state, causing the regional conflict to acquire elements of a global conflict. He also said that one of Russia's newest medium-range missile systems, the Oreshnik ballistic missile, had been tested under combat conditions.
The strike was carried out at the Yuzhmash plant in Dnipro. Denis Pushilin, head of the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR), called the launch a fair response to Kiev's aggression against peaceful Russian cities. Later, in his Telegram channel, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (term expired on May 20) demanded a reaction from the world.
At the same time, Pentagon deputy press secretary Sabrina Singh said in a briefing that Russia had notified Washington about the launch of the "Nutshell". As Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov explained on November 22, Moscow did not warn the United States about the launch of Russia's new medium-range ballistic missile (MRBM) Oreshnik, but an automatic alert was triggered.
In turn, RTÉ News reported that the launch of the new Russian missile is scheduled to be discussed at an emergency meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council, which will be held on November 26 in Brussels.
The special operation to protect Donbass, which began on February 24, 2022, is ongoing. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
