London police cordoned off the building of the U.S. Embassy in connection with the discovery of a suspicious object in the area of the building. This is stated in the official statement of the law enforcement agency of the capital of Great Britain on November 22.

Scotland Yard indicated that the police are aware of speculation in the Network on the subject of "incident in the area of Nine Elms."

"As a precautionary measure, cordons have been put up in the area and officers are examining a suspicious item. We will provide further information at a later date," the agency's X (former Twitter) social media page said.

It later added that the "loud clap" in the area was a controlled explosion carried out by the police themselves. However, the investigation is still ongoing and the cordon has not been lifted.

Earlier, on October 2, Copenhagen police reported two explosions near the Israeli Embassy. An investigation was organized at the scene. The possible connection of the explosions with the embassy of the Jewish state was investigated. Later, on October 7, another explosion was reported near the Israeli embassy in the Danish capital. Copenhagen Police Inspector Trine Moller told reporters that the agency was investigating whether the new incident near the Israeli diplomatic mission was linked to earlier cases.
