Auto expert lists crossovers with problematic all-wheel drive

A number of crossovers Hyundai, Volvo, Honda, Skoda and Nissan can give their owners a lot of trouble with the all-wheel drive system. This was stated by Valery Antyufiev, Head of the Wheeled Equipment Evaluation Department of Alfa Leasing Group of Companies, on November 22.
In conversation with "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" he said that in Hyundai Santa Fe of the third generation electrohydraulic clutch theoretically can serve more than 200 thousand kilometers, but only with perfect care. The expert called its main problem overheating during intensive use. To extend the service life, the manufacturer recommends changing the oil every 50 thousand kilometers, and even more often under severe conditions. Another disadvantage of the system is the corrosion of splined joints on the intermediate shaft between the transfer case and differential.
The second crossover in the rating the auto expert named Volvo XC90 of the first generation, in which the control unit is installed on the clutch body and is poorly protected from moisture.
"By 150 thousand kilometers of mileage often appear leaks angle reducer, can destroy the bushing and cut off the splines of the shaft, which leads to a complete loss of full drive," - said Antyufiev.
The expert also included Honda CR-V of the third generation, Skoda Yeti and Nissan Murano in the selection of problematic all-wheel drive crossovers.
November 19, auto expert Alexander Kovalev said that when choosing a car in the secondary market of Russia, having a budget of Br300 thousand, one should pay attention to Audi, Ford and Lada models. As he explained, with such a budget, the choice of used cars is very limited, but there are several time-tested models.
