The authorization of US President Joe Biden to use US missiles to strike deep into Russia is shocking. Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fitzo said on November 22.

"The escalation caused by Biden's decision is shocking and it really has no place in 2024," RTS quoted the Slovak prime minister as saying.

According to him, these actions could be related to the fact that the Biden administration wants to narrow the space for US President-elect Donald Trump when the topic of possible negotiations is raised.

In addition, Fitzo spoke in favor of peace and the start of negotiations, adding that all actions taking place at the moment are irresponsible for the whole world.

Earlier, on November 20, Fitzo called Biden's decision to strike deep into Russian Federation irresponsible, and also noted that it proves the West's unwillingness to end the Ukrainian conflict. On the same day, Biden's former aide, writer and publicist Tara Reid said that the current U.S. administration wants to achieve an escalation of the conflict in Ukraine. In addition, she noted that Trump and other people in the administration who want to de-escalate the conflict have already cut off funding to Kiev.

Before that, on November 17, The New York Times reported that Biden allowed Ukraine to use US long-range missiles to strike Russia, but there was no official confirmation from Washington yet. At the same time, Deputy National Security Adviser to the US president John Feiner did not confirm in a conversation with journalists on 18 November that Washington had given such permission to Kiev. The official noted that the White House, when making decisions, proceeds from the situation on the battlefield.

Later, on November 19, the Defense Ministry said that calculations of S-400 air defense missile systems and the Pantsir air defense missile and cannon system in the Bryansk region shot down five ATACMS missiles fired by the AFU and damaged another one. The wreckage of the latter fell on the territory of the military facility, without casualties or damage.

Western countries have stepped up military and financial support for Ukraine amid Russia's special operation to protect Donbass, which began on February 24, 2022. The decision to hold it was taken by the Russian president because of the aggravation of the situation in the region due to the increased shelling by Ukrainian troops.
