In Vienna, a plumber discovered a cache of gold coins weighing 30 kg and worth € 2.5 million.
According to the material, the plumber made the discovery while renovating a villa in the Penzing district. He found a rope visible from the basement, but was unable to pull it out, after which he used a shovel. By chipping away at the concrete, the worker discovered a metal chest containing coins depicting the composer Mozart.
According to Austrian law, the contents of the cache will be divided equally between the plumber and the owner of the villa, reports the British newspaper The Sun on November 18
It is noted that the coins may have been buried during World War II.
Earlier, on November 14, in the Turkish city of Tarsus gravediggers found an ancient jug containing silver coins. The find was immediately reported to the police and historians from the local museum. Specialists found in the dishes about 1.1 thousand coins.
