A man fell through the ice of a lake in the Murmansk region and drowned

In the Pechenga district of the Murmansk region, a man fell through the ice of a lake and drowned. The regional EMERCOM of Russia reports about it in its Telegram-channel.

The tragedy occurred the day before, November 21, on Lake Santayarvi. In 15 meters from the shore, an eyewitness noticed a hood under the ice and informed the rescuers. The diving team arrived and found the man's body, brought him to the shore and handed him over to the police.

As specified IA "Beeport", near the reservoir was parked SUV Mitsubishi Pajero. The circumstances of the man's death are being established.

Since the beginning of November, four tragic cases on thin ice have already been recorded on the water bodies of the Murmansk region. The Ministry of Emergency Situations urges to observe the rules of safety on water bodies in the fall-winter period and remember about the unsafe thickness of ice.
