Pakistan called Russia's test of the Oreshnik missile a worthy response to the West
The test of Russia's new Russian-made Oreshnik missile was a worthy and timely response to warmongers in the West, Mushahid Hussain Sayed, head of Pakistan's Senate Defense Committee, said Nov. 22.
"I think this is a very dignified and timely response to the warmongers in the West who want to use the conflict in Ukraine to try to put pressure on Russia and change the dynamics of world politics," he told RIA Novosti.
The senator called Russian President Vladimir Putin a smart leader and expressed the opinion that the missile launch was a reaction primarily to the actions of U.S. President Joe Biden and other Democratic Party representatives.
As Syed noted, because of their defeat in the presidential election, they are now resorting to extreme measures, sending weapons to Kiev in order to escalate the conflict. According to the Pakistani politician, Moscow 's response to such moves will help stabilize the situation and prevent a larger clash.

The Associated Press called the launch a direct signal to the West. Former CIA analyst Larry Johnson told Izvestia that the Oreshnik missile's warhead speed is such that the West's air defense systems would not have been able to repel it in the event of a strike.
The special operation to protect Donbass, which began on February 24, 2022, is ongoing. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
