More than 100 new car models will appear in Russia in 2024

In 2024, more than 100 models have entered the Russian automobile market, taking into account those that will appear before the end of December. This was reported on November 22 by the analytical agency "Avtostat", noting that the results are preliminary.

Experts of the agency took into account only those brands and models that have officially appeared on the market. For example, Haval and Geely have released five new products each, Chery has three new models, three more new products were brought to Russia by Dongfeng under the brand DFSK. Tank, Shangan, GAC, Omoda, BAIC, JAC, Jaecoo, Foton, Hongqi, Haima, Exeed, Belgee and other brands also premiered.

Analysts emphasized that some brands that voiced their plans have not yet appeared on the market. For example, Chinese BYD, Zeekr and eπ (from the Chinese concern Dongfeng). At the same time, new Chinese brands Avatr, Oting, VGV, Knewstar, Soueast, M-Hero, MG, Wey, Seres Aito and Lynk & Co, as well as Russian Xcite, Solaris and Amberavto have appeared in the RF. Korean brand KGM and Iranian Iran Khodro may yet exit before the end of the year.

On November 19, it was reported that in October 2024, Russia set a record for sales of new passenger cars of Chinese brands in a month. A total of 98.2 thousand new passenger cars of brands from China were sold in mid-autumn. The previous maximum was noted a month earlier, in September, when 93.2 thousand such cars were sold.

Earlier, on November 18, it became known that more often than others , those Russians who already have such a car are ready to buy a car of Chinese brand. This statement was made by 70% of respondents. According to the results of the study, on average among car owners the level of readiness to purchase a car made in China is 34%.
