Sobyanin told about the results of summer navigation in Moscow

From April to November, cruise ships traveling along the Moscow River served more than 370 thousand passengers. This figure increased by 15% compared to the navigation season of 2023, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said in his personal blog.

According to the mayor, among the most popular river travel destinations are Nizhny Novgorod, St. Petersburg and Yaroslavl. "At the height of the season the Northern and Southern river stations received and sent up to 30 motor ships a day. In total, they served more than 2.1 thousand trips - 10% more compared to last year's season," - said Sobyanin.

River streetcar rides remain one of the most popular entertainments for Muscovites and guests of the capital. This year on the Moscow River worked more than 150 pleasure boats, their services were used by more than 1.5 million passengers.

The mayor also reminded that last year the world's first year-round regular electric transport routes were launched - "Kievsky - Heart of the Capital" and "ZIL - Pechatniki". "This year, the first line was extended to the "Park Fili" pier and received a new name "Kievsky - Park Fili". In just one year, six new piers were opened on the two routes," Sobyanin said.

In total, since the beginning of work year-round electric vessels have made more than 58 thousand trips and transported 1.5 million passengers.

The mayor called the Northern and Southern river stations "symbols of the Moscow River revival". After restoration works and reconstruction these stations "again became real river gates of the capital", emphasized Sobyanin.

Earlier the mayor told about the improvement of embankments. Among the reconstructed areas - Pushkinskaya and Krutitskaya embankments, riverside spaces near Brateevsky Cascade Park and from Filevsky Park to the theater "Workshop of P.N. Fomenko", as well as near the museum-reserve Kolomenskoye.

"We build and launch new piers, transform empty or abandoned land plots into park zones and recreational spaces, strengthen the banks, plant greenery and build new infrastructure for citizens", - said the mayor.

In the coming years it is planned to complete works on Karamyshevskaya and Shelepikhinskaya embankments. In total it is planned to reconstruct more than 85 kilometers of embankments.
