The winners of the National Sports Award for 2024 were named in Moscow

On November 20, a solemn awarding ceremony for the winners of the National Sports Award for 2024 was held in Moscow. The event took place on the territory of the Russian Ministry of Sports - in the A.K. Razumovsky Urban Estate. The participants and guests of the ceremony were Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Mikhail Degtyarev, Minister of Sports of Russia, as well as leading athletes of the country, legends of national sports, heads of all-Russian sports federations, famous artists.

Dmitry Chernyshenko noted the significant contribution of athletes, coaches and organizers in strengthening the sports sovereignty of the country. Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the words of Russian President Vladimir Putin that physical culture and sports are directly related to the preservation of our citizens, to the realization of their talents and opportunities, to the increase of well-being.

"The National Award annually recognizes those who have made the greatest contribution to achieving the indicators set for us by the head of state: 70% of citizens should regularly engage in physical culture. Sports heroes are role models, attract hundreds, thousands and millions of boys and girls, help them make the right choice towards a healthy lifestyle. Sport allows us not only to be in good shape, but also to increase productivity," said Dmitry Chernyshenko.

Deputy Prime Minister noted that this year was rich in new formats of competitions. For the first time on the initiative of the head of state, the Games of the Future, the BRICS Sports Games and the Children of Asia were held. The contribution of each athlete and coach is invaluable.

Sports Minister Mikhail Degtyarev emphasized: "This time we are holding the ceremony at home - at the Ministry of Sports of Russia. In the future we will continue to update and develop the award, expand the number of nominations. For example, we will think about adding an award for veteran athletes, for the best sports blog and others to make the award relevant, meet the challenges of the time and always remain an important part of the sports life of the country, recognizing the outstanding achievements of different representatives of the industry".

Based on the results of the work of the competition commissions of the All-Russian contests in the sphere of physical culture and sports and the Expert Council, the winners in 18 categories in 11 nominations were named.
