The Washington Capitals hockey club on Friday, November 22, wished a speedy recovery to its captain - Russian forward Alexander Ovechkin - who has been diagnosed with a fracture of the left fibula.

"Get well soon," the team said in an Instagram post (owned by Meta, an organization recognized as extremist in Russian Federation).

Ovechkin was injured in the third period of the Washington Capitals' game against Utah on Nov. 19. The hockey player injured his knee in a collision with Utah forward Jack McBain and was forced to leave the ice with the help of another player. Washington Capitals coach Spencer Carbery later revealed that Ovechkin was being examined after the injury. The hockey player's agent Gleb Chistyakov said that Ovechkin feels normal.

The press service of the National Hockey League (NHL) reported that the hockey player will miss four to six weeks due to a fracture. It was noted that the absence will be the longest in the career of the athlete. Before that, he missed a maximum of six games due to injury in 2009.
