Iran intends to launch new centrifuges for uranium enrichment after IAEA resolution

The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) intends to commission a significant number of new upgraded centrifuges for uranium enrichment as a response to the anti-Iran resolution adopted by the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). This was stated in a November 22 joint statement by the Foreign Ministries of the Islamic Republic and the UAEI.
The ministry noted that Iran's specialized structures have already warned at various levels that the actions are politically motivated and aimed only at confrontation.
"In this regard, the head of the AEOI ordered to take appropriate measures, including the launch of a significant number of new advanced centrifuges of different types," the Telegram channel of the Iranian Foreign Ministry noted.
It also explained that all subsequent Iranian retaliatory actions will also be taken solely "for the protection of national interests and further development of the peaceful nuclear industry." At the same time, they will not go beyond the framework provided for by the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
On November 21, due to the lack of cooperation on the nuclear issue, the IAEA Board of Governors adopted a resolution criticizing Iran. It is specified that the United States told the IAEA board of deep concern about Tehran's nuclear activities, while London, Paris and Berlin added that the nuclear program could threaten world security.
At the same time, IAEA head Rafael Grossi said on November 20 that Iran had begun preparations to stop building up stockpiles of uranium enriched to 60%. He specified that the IAEA and Tehran continue to discuss this issue.
Prior to that, on November 17, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that European countries and Iran plan to resume talks on returning to the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on Iran's nuclear program. According to him, the talks could start "as soon as possible".
