"Ukraine is in a weaker position now than at any other point in the conflict. Russia is making gains and accumulating advantages in a number of places," The Times quoted the expert as saying.

The expert is deeply convinced that even the permission given to Kiev to use long-range Storm Shadow missiles to strike deep into Russia will not be able to change the course of the conflict. In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have very few such missiles, Gazeta.Ru adds.

As for possible peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, the expert said that the US "will be watching from behind the scenes", realizing that the situation will be "grim" for them.

Prior to that, on November 21, Alice Weidel, co-chair of the right-wing Alternative for Germany (AdG) party, said that Ukraine's use of British Storm Shadow missiles to attack Russian territory was an irresponsible action.
