U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris went on vacation with her family in Hawaii after her defeat in the presidential election. White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre said on November 21.

"[She] took a break from work to spend time with her family. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I think she deserves to spend time with her family and not work, she's worked very hard for the last four years," she said at the briefing, which was broadcast on the White House's YouTube channel.

As Gazeta.ru notes, Harris flew for vacation on November 19, and her office notes in the vice president's schedule no public events for the following days.

The election of the 47th President of the United States was held on November 5. In the national vote, Trump received 51% of the vote, and the candidate from the Democrats Kamala Harris - 47.4%. The next day, the politician, speaking to supporters, called himself the 47th President of the United States and said that his goal as head of state considers the end of military conflicts in the world.

After the defeat, Harris came out to supporters with a speech during which she thanked them and the incumbent president for their support. She said her team would help Trump carry out the transition of power.
