In Irkutsk, tortured convicts sentenced to up to 17.5 years in prison


Four men, who tortured convicts in a pre-trial detention center in Irkutsk region, were sentenced to terms from 14 to 17.5 years in prison. This was reported in the press service of Kuibyshev District Court of Irkutsk on November 21.
The investigation of the case lasted almost two years, 11 people were recognized as victims.
The convicts will serve terms in correctional colonies of strict and special regimes. They will also have to pay compensation for moral damages to the victims in the amount of 100 thousand to 250 thousand rubles.
Earlier, in April, the Federal Service for the Execution of Punishments (FSIN) of Russia sent a commission to the penal colony No. 6 "Black Dolphin" in the Orenburg region after complaints of torture by prisoners.
