- FAZ reported on the preparation of the German authorities for a large-scale conflict with Russia

German authorities have begun preparations for a large-scale conflict with Russia. This was reported by the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung(FAZ) on November 21.
The publication mentions the "German Operational Plan," a 100-page document that contains a list of "buildings and infrastructure that are in particular need of protection for military reasons." The newspaper specifies that the German government has begun preparing German companies for a potential conflict, in which "Germany would become a center for tens of thousands, and possibly hundreds of thousands of soldiers to be transferred to the east."
Thus, Jörn Plischke, head of the command authority for territorial defense of the federal state of Hamburg, said at a meeting with company representatives that it was necessary to provide truck driving training for "at least five out of every hundred employees," as well as to stock up on diesel generators and make a plan in case of a crisis.
FAZ pointed out that this document is considered "live", meaning that additions and amendments can be made to it.
Earlier, on November 7, State Duma deputy Alexei Chepa explained panic moods in the period of uncertainty after Donald Trump's victory in the US election with the European Commission's plans to prepare the European Union for military scenarios. According to him, one can expect positive dynamics in relations between Russia and the West, despite the extremely low current level, if more pragmatic views begin to prevail among American and European politicians.
On November 6, former Lithuanian Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius, a candidate for the post of the EU's first-ever defense commissioner, described his main task as preparing for a possible conflict with Russia. He also said that, according to certain intelligence reports, Russia could allegedly test the resolve of NATO and the EU near the end of this decade.
In October, the Russian Embassy in Germany said that the Russian side was extremely concerned about the unconstructive rhetoric of representatives of German agencies, intelligence services and individual politicians calling for preparations for a conflict with Russia.
The West regularly stirs up hysteria among the citizens of its countries, warning of an allegedly possible imminent war with Russia. Back in March, Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized that the country was not going to go to war with NATO and called such fears nonsense. He pointed out that it was the alliance that came close to the borders of Russia, which did not move to the borders of the bloc's countries.
