Putin addresses Russian Armed Forces personnel over Western missile attacks

On Thursday, November 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the personnel of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and citizens of the country. During his speech, he informed Russians about the events in the zone of the special military operation (SMO).
"I would like to inform the personnel of the Russian Armed Forces, citizens of our country, our friends around the world, as well as those who continue to harbor illusions about the possibility of inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia, about the events that are taking place today in the zone of the Special Military Operation (SMO), namely after the use of Western-made long-range weapons on our territory," Putin said.
Earlier in the day, Putin announced the use of Western long-range weapons against Russia. According to him, the conflict after the strike by Western weapons on the Russian Federation has acquired a global character.
Also, the Russian president said the Russian state had tested the Oreshnik missile in response to NATO's aggressive actions.
On November 19, the Russian military shot down five Ukrainian-launched ATACMS missiles in the Bryansk region and damaged another. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called it a signal that the West wants to escalate the conflict.
The special operation to protect Donbass, which the Russian president announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
