Germany calls Ukraine's use of Storm Shadow missiles irresponsible

Ukraine's use of British Storm Shadow missiles to attack Russian territory is an irresponsible action. Alice Weidel, co-chair of the right-wing Alternative for Germany (AdG) party, said in the social network X (former Twitter) on November 21.
"Attacking Russia with British Storm Shadow Troopers is irresponsible. Instead of further escalation, the goal should be a diplomatic search for balance and understanding," the post reads.
It also clarified that Germany's Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and Christian Social Union (CSU) are preparing for conflict, while the AdG favors peace.
Earlier in the day, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Ukraine had used Western long-range weapons against the Russian state. According to him, the regional conflict has acquired elements of global character.
At the same time, the Russian Defense Ministry said that Russian air defenses shot down two Storm Shadow missiles launched by the Ukrainian side.
Prior to that, on November 19, the Defense Ministry said that calculations of S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems and the Pantsir anti-aircraft missile and cannon system in the Bryansk region shot down five ATACMS missiles launched by the AFU and damaged another one. The wreckage of the latter fell on the territory of the military facility, without casualties or damage.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
