Trump has nominated Pam Bondi to be U.S. Justice Secretary


Former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi became a candidate for the post of U.S. Secretary of Justice, nominated by President-elect Donald Trump. He announced on November 22.
"I am proud to announce former Attorney General of the Great State of Florida Pam Bondi as our next U.S. Attorney General. I have known Pam for many years - she is smart and tough and will do a great job as Attorney General," he wrote on his Truth Social media page.
Trump also noted Bondi's experience as Attorney General of Florida, her work to stop drug trafficking and reduce the number of drug-related deaths.
Earlier, on November 21, it became known that Republican Matt Gaetz withdrew his candidacy for the post of US Attorney General. Trump nominated him for the post of head of the U.S. Department of Justice on November 13. The Republican from Florida is an active supporter of Trump and one of his most loyal allies.
