More than 50,000 units of repaired military equipment have been returned to service during the special military operation (SMO). This was announced by the Russian Defense Ministry on November 22.

At the same time, since the beginning of the Special Military Operation, the supply of armored weapons and equipment to the Russian Armed Forces has increased almost seven times.

"Since the beginning of the special military operation, the supply of armored vehicle armament and equipment has increased almost seven times. When developing new and modernizing existing samples, the main priority for GABTU is to take into account the combat experience of the special military operation," TASS quoted the statement of the department as saying.

It is noted that the repair of damaged weapons from the moment of arrival to return to service takes up to a maximum of one and a half days.

Earlier, on August 25, specialists of the repair unit of the army corps of the Vostok group of troops showed how to repair any weapon in the rear area of the special operation. The unit is staffed by professional gunsmiths, welders, electricians and mechanics, the Defense Ministry said.

On August 22, the Defense Ministry told how a master of military equipment repair helped to return more than 15 combat vehicles to the battlefield. Vladimir Abramov is engaged in repairs and as a member of the technical reconnaissance group has repeatedly traveled to the line of contact to search for and evacuate to the rear military and special equipment damaged in battle.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
