Musk announced plans to reform the U.S. government apparatus and cut spending

American entrepreneur and billionaire Ilon Musk, who will head the new US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), said that he has a radical plan to reform the US state apparatus and reduce government spending. This was reported by The Hill on November 20.
It is specified that DOGE will focus on identifying "thousands" of regulations that US President-elect Donald Trump will have to repeal.
"We will advise DOGE every step of the way to pursue three main types of reforms: deregulation, administrative cost reduction and cost savings," Musk said.
The entrepreneur noted that the new ministry will deal with reforms based solely on the basis of existing legislation, without drafting and passing new laws.
Earlier, on November 13, Donald Trump announced that American entrepreneurs Ilon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy will head a new department of efficiency of the US government. This department will have to directly participate in the reorganization of the American government. The work of the department will be completed no later than July 4, 2026, Trump said in a press release.
The election of the 47th president of the United States was held on November 5. In the national vote, Trump received 51% of the votes, while the candidate from the Democrats Kamala Harris - 47.4%. Later, the politician, speaking to supporters, called himself the 47th President of the United States and said that his goal as head of state considers the end of military conflicts in the world.
