The share of domestic medical products in the total market volume amounted to 25.4%

In the first nine months of 2024, Russia produced more than 263,000 units of medical equipment, the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Trade told Izvestia. Among this volume are 4,523 devices for fluoroscopy, radiography and computer tomography, the ministry noted.

"According to state statistics, the production of domestic medical equipment shows an annual systematic growth. And at the end of 2023, the volume of industrial production amounted to almost 50 billion rubles (2021 - 38.6 billion rubles, 2022 - 43.9 billion rubles, 2023 - 49.9 billion rubles, 9 months of 2024 - 37.1 billion rubles)," the ministry added.

Today, 2,986 manufacturers are engaged in the production of medical devices. The share of domestic medical devices in the total market in 2023 amounted to 25.4%, in public procurement - 28.5%.

The process of localization is underway and pre-production samples of various high-tech equipment are being created, in particular, a mobile radiotherapy complex based on domestic small-size betatron technology, a hemodialysis machine, a magnetic resonance tomograph, an optical coherence tomograph for ophthalmology," the reply to the editorial board's inquiry reads.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade added that the localization process is underway and pre-production samples of various high-tech equipment are being created.
