The UN told of the worsening situation in Lebanon
The situation on the Lebanese-Israeli border has worsened in recent days amid truce talks between Israel and the Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah. The UN mission in the country told Izvestia.
"There is an exchange of blows, ground clashes in close proximity to our positions in the western sector, close to Shama," Andrea Tenenti, the official spokesman for the UN interim force in Lebanon, told Izvestia.
The UN peacekeeping force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) has been repeatedly hit by both the IDF and Hezbollah since the start of Israel's ground operation in the Lebanese Republic.
"The Israelis go a little bit deeper into Lebanon, although they come back afterwards. It is very difficult to track these movements because our monitoring capabilities are limited," Tenenti said.
