Russia may contribute to the conclusion of a truce between Israel and the Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah. The office of the country's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Izvestia.

"Any efforts by countries that have influence on what is happening in the region, including Russian Federation, to carry out this task (providing security to the northern parts of Israel. - Ed.) can have a positive impact on the creation of ceasefire conditions in Lebanon," Dmitry Gendelman, advisor to the Israeli Prime Minister, told Izvestia.

Earlier, Israeli media reported that Moscow is ready to facilitate a settlement on the Lebanese-Israeli border. In this case, the role of the Russian Federation will allegedly be to prevent the supply of Iranian weapons to Hezbollah through the Syrian territory.
