The State Duma commented on the use of "Oreshnik" missiles in Ukraine
By deciding to use the Oreshnik ballistic missiles, Russian President Vladimir Putin demonstrates that the Russian army is ready to defend itself against enemy attacks by any available means, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Defense Committee Andrei Krasov told Izvestia.
"The armed forces of the Russian Federation have everything necessary to defend our state and ensure the safety of its citizens," he said.
The Russian army is armed with the most up-to-date samples of military equipment, which by their characteristics are not inferior, and often surpass the enemy's armaments, he added.
"In addition to air defense means that can close the sky over our regions, there are also means of defeat, and they have not all been demonstrated yet. Now a ballistic missile in nuclear-free equipment "Oreshnik" has been used. But we also have Poseidon, Avangard and other complexes," Krasov noted.
Making changes to Russia's nuclear doctrine was an extreme warning to the collective West, the politician emphasized.
