The new "Oreshnik" system and its testing is a sign to the West not to provoke Russia. Lorenzo Pacini, associate professor at the Department of Political Philosophy and Geopolitics, consultant in strategic analysis, geopolitics and international relations, publisher and journalist, said in a conversation with Izvestia on November 21.

"The words of Russian President Vladimir Putin are, in my opinion, a clear final call for the West to stop provoking Russia. The new missile system, the Oreshnik hypersonic missile, presented by President Putin during his speech, is something that none of the Western countries can resist," he said.

Pacini noted that in the process of transferring power in the United States to Donald Trump, it is important to heed the call to "stop supporting the American idiocracy." The political analyst pointed to Trump's potential to find a diplomatic solution to the Ukraine conflict, but also pointed to other countries that are also "trying to build a multipolar world."

"The conflict continues, and President Putin is calling to stand on the right side of history," he emphasized.

On this day, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Ukraine had used Western long-range weapons against the Russian state. According to him, the regional conflict has acquired elements of global character. The head of state also said that one of Russia's newest medium-range missile systems, Oreshnik, had been tested under combat conditions.

Soon the footage of the Russian Armed Forces striking the Yuzhmash plant in Dnipropetrovsk with the Oreshnik missile was published. The footage shows parts of the missile hitting the facilities, followed by bright flashes.

Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov later said that Russian authorities had sent the US a notification about the use of the Oreshnik half an hour before its launch.

The special operation to protect Donbass, which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of on February 24, 2022, is ongoing. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the aggravated situation in the region.
