Emergencies Ministry special airplane delivered 37 Russians and 19 Belarusians from Lebanon to Moscow

Aircraft IL-76 of the Russian Emergencies Ministry delivered 37 Russians and 19 citizens of Belarus evacuated from the conflict zone in Lebanon to Moscow. This was reported in the agency on November 21.

According to EMERCOM, a special airplane from Beirut landed at Domodedovo airport. The evacuation of 56 people, who wished to leave the conflict zone, was carried out on the orders of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the instruction of the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, Alexander Kurenkov.

The agency added that since the beginning of the humanitarian mission from Lebanon aviation of EMERCOM of Russia transported a total of 305 people.

Earlier, November 7, the Emergencies Ministry said that a special aircraft of the Russian Emergencies Ministry will deliver 89 Russians from Beirut to Moscow, who wished to leave the conflict zone. This was reported in the press service of the agency on November 7.

November 5, a Russian special aircraft evacuated 100 Russian citizens and their families. Prior to that, on September 25, the Kremlin recommended the Russians in Lebanon to leave the country. At that time, according to the Lebanese Embassy, there were about 3 thousand Russian citizens in the Middle Eastern country.

The escalation of hostilities between Israel and the Lebanese Shiite movement "Hezbollah" occurred after the events of September 17 and 18, when thousands of people, including employees of the movement, were injured in explosions of pagers and other communication devices in Lebanon. The country blamed Tel Aviv for what happened. Since then, Israel has continued to eliminate the leadership of the Shiite movement and strike Lebanese territory.

The situation in the Middle East escalated on the morning of October 7, 2023, when the Palestinian radical movement Hamas subjected the territory of Israel to a massive rocket attack from the Gaza Strip. On the same day, Israel began retaliatory strikes.
