The Russian Defense Ministry on November 22 reported on the exploits of servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces (AF) who risked their lives to successfully carry out combat missions during a special military operation (SMO).

The agency noted the actions of junior sergeant Vladimir Abramov, who as part of a tank crew performed the task of fire support for Russian troops conducting an offensive against the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

In the course of the combat mission, Abramov received a command to attack a cluster of enemy armored vehicles that had moved to reinforce his units. Having waited for the right moment, the junior sergeant competently calculated the distance to the target and fired a shot from a range of more than 4.5 kilometers. As a result of the hit, the lead vehicle was hit, which was a complete surprise for the enemy.

Abramov then changed his firing position and fired the same accurate shot at the trailing vehicle, thus restraining the enemy convoy on a narrow section of road. As a result, the Ukrainian fighters turned to flee, leaving their armored vehicles and wounded. Thanks to Abramov's actions, the enemy was deprived of the opportunity to bring reserves into the battle and retreated under the onslaught of Russian servicemen.

The Defense Ministry also drew attention to the merits of Lieutenant Ramil Ishkin, who, directing the calculation of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the assault unit, controlled the defeat of objects, manpower and equipment of the AFU.

While conducting aerial reconnaissance with the drone, Ishkin detected a cluster of enemy personnel and a camouflaged stronghold with an equipped mortar formation. He then promptly relayed these coordinates to an artillery unit, which destroyed the enemy positions.

Earlier, on November 21, the Defense Ministry reported that Sergeant Yan Tashlanov was able to prevent an enemy drone attack on Russian equipment that was supplying ammunition to the assault units. Thanks to his actions, the ammunition was delivered on time and the Russian units were able to advance.

On the same day, crews of T-80BVM tanks of the "North" group of forces destroyed camouflaged strongholds and AFU manpower in the special operation zone. The fire on the enemy positions was adjusted using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
