Peskov spoke about the goals of the Russian Armed Forces to advance into the DNR

Russian troops will go to the borders of the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR), where the republic was originally part of Russia. Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin, said on November 21.
"While our troops are advancing on the territory of the DNR. They (the republic's territories. - Ed.) are recognized by us and included in the Russian Federation within the 1991 borders (of the Donetsk region at that time. - Ed.). We have yet to reach these borders. The special military operation continues," he told RIA Novosti.
Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry said that Russian troops had liberated the settlement of Dalneye in the DNR. The DNR People's Militia published footage of a Russian flag in the settlement. It is noted that the Ukrainian army lost up to 380 fighters and military equipment.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
