The first ice crossing on the Lena River in Yakutia will be opened next week


Yakutia plans to open the first ice crossing on the Lena River next week, which will connect the villages of Khatassy and Pavlovsk. This was reported to YakutiaMedia IA by the press service of the republican government.
Now preparatory work is being carried out on the site, two lanes are ready, hummocks are cleared and ice leveling is underway. The regional department of highways is controlling the preparation.
Vehicles and machinery weighing up to 3 tons will be able to use the crossing. The road is expected to be operational by the end of November.
Meanwhile, work continues on the federal highways "Vilyui" and "Kolyma", where four ice crossings are expected to be opened by December. The Yakutsk - Nizhny Bestyakh ice crossing will start operating on January 5 for vehicles weighing up to 10 tons.
