Quarantine imposed in one of the districts of Stavropol due to brucellosis in cattle

A quarantine has been imposed in Neftekumsk district of Stavropol Krai due to a detected brucellosis outbreak. This is reported by IA Stavropol.Media with reference to the relevant order of the Veterinary Department.

The disease was detected in cattle at the cattle-breeding parking lot, located 12 km from the village of Kayasula. Quarantine has been imposed since November 20.

It is noted that for the duration of the quarantine it is not allowed to prepare fodder in places where there could be sick cows, and get litter from infected animals. In addition, the export and import of animals, milking sheep and goats, making cheese from their milk, grazing fall under the restriction.

Fairs involving the movement of livestock have also been suspended in the county.

In early November, brucellosis was also detected in rams in the village of Beshpagir in Grachevsky District of Stavropol. A quarantine was also imposed on the territory.
