Court sentences former St. Petersburg vice-governor Lovlentsev to 13 years in prison

Meshchansky court of Moscow has sentenced former vice-governor of St. Petersburg Vladimir Lavlentsev to 13 years in prison for embezzlement and fraud. This was reported by "Izvestia" correspondent from the courtroom on November 21.

In addition to 13 years of general regime colony, Lovlentsev was fined 132.9 million rubles.

Another defendant in the case, former general director of SKA Arena LLC Igor Zabiran, was sentenced to 7.5 years in a penal colony with a fine of 54 million rubles.

In July 2023, Lavlentsev was sent under house arrest on suspicion of fraud. According to Izvestia, the former vice-governor became a defendant in a criminal case of embezzlement on construction contracts. The amount of damage is about 3 billion rubles.

Lovlentsev held the post of St. Petersburg's vice-governor for housing and utilities from May 2013 to October 2014. From November 2015 to November 2018, he worked as chief federal inspector for Moscow, and in November 2021 he became general director of Stroytransgaz. The company is the general contractor for the construction of the SKA Arena hockey complex.
