Farewell to Mariinsky Theater soloist Shklyarov ended in St. Petersburg with applause

The farewell ceremony for Mariinsky Theater premier Vladimir Shklyarov in St. Petersburg ended with applause. This was reported on November 21 by the Izvestia correspondent.

Several hundred people who brought flowers came to the Mariinsky Theater to see the artist off on his last journey. At the removal of the coffin from the building of the cultural institution sounded applause.

Shklyarov will be buried at the Smolensk Orthodox Cemetery.

About the death of the artist at the age of 39 years on November 16 reported in the press service of the theater. Prima ballerina of the Mariinsky Theater Renata Shakirova said in a conversation with "Izvestia" that Shklyarov fully devoted himself to the stage.

In 2003, Shklyarov graduated from the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet. Vaganova, after which he became a member of the company. In 2011 he was awarded premiere status at the Mariinsky Theatre. His repertoire has included classical ballets and contemporary choreography. The soloist has been awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.
