A Ukrainian agent who committed arson on a railroad in Bryansk and was detained while trying to carry out another sabotage has been sentenced to 15 years. This was reported on November 21 by the Western Interregional Investigation Department on Transport of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
It is established that on February 25 this year, the defendant joined a criminal group to destabilize the work of the Russian authorities. He together with a minor acquaintance carried out the arson of a relay cabinet on the 373rd km of the railway crossing Polpinskaya - Chernets MZhD in the Volodarsky district of Bryansk, after the attackers fled.
"Employees of the FSSB of Russia in the Bryansk region and the UMVD of Russia in the Bryansk region identified the citizens who committed the crime. When the man attempted to commit another sabotage, he was detained," reads in the Telegram-channel of the department.
According to the IC of the Russian Federation, the court found the man guilty of committing a number of crimes. He was sentenced to imprisonment for 15 years with serving the first three years in prison and the rest in a strict regime penal colony.
The minor, in respect of whom the criminal case was allocated to a separate proceeding, was also found guilty. He will be held for six years in an educational colony.
Earlier, on September 24, the FSB officers detained a resident of Birobidzhan, recruited by the Ukrainian security services and preparing a sabotage on the railway and arson of the assembly point of contract workers. The 23-year-old attacker was engaged in collecting data on the facilities of the Russian Ministry of Defense, and also made containers with incendiary mixture to set fire to the selection point on the territory of the city.
