Western countries should pay Russia for forests that absorb carbon dioxide. This was stated on November 21 by Mikhail Kovalchuk, President of the Kurchatov Institute National Research Center Mikhail Kovalchuk at the round table of the Federation Council Commission on Information Policy and Media Relations on the topic "Multipolar World Doctrine vs. Globalism and Transhumanism: Challenges of Information Policy".

He pointed out that the West, which promotes the policy of distributing quotas for greenhouse gas emissions in the world, should, on the contrary, pay Russia because it has the cleanest energy.

"Nobody fires gas: they fire coal, <...> but we fire gas. In addition to gas, we have hydroelectric and nuclear power plants. We have no emissions," Kovalchuk noted.

Russia also has the largest area of forests, the head of the research center reminded.

"This means that we absorb carbon dioxide - we lack it. They should pay us for the fact that we "clean" the planet. And they assign us quotas," Kovalchuk added.

Earlier, on November 4, Mikhail Kovalchuk said at the International Science Fiction Symposium-Exhibition "Creating the Future" that Russia surpasses other countries in terms of resources and is in all senses a self-sufficient country. He noted that Russia has "the largest area of forests," "the largest reserves of drinking water," and "the largest reserves of fertile soil."

Kovalchuk emphasized that one simple conclusion can be drawn from this superiority - Russia must be strong so that no one would have the idea to encroach on its wealth and well-being. At the same time, the Russian Federation has no reason to attack anyone first, because it has absolutely everything it needs, unlike its neighbors.
