A five-point storm is expected in Moscow on Thursday, November 21. This was stated by the leading expert of the weather center "Fobos" Evgeny Tishkovets.
"With the increase in the atmospheric pressure gradient in Moscow and the vicinity in the first half of the day the wind in gusts blows up to 15-18 m/s. With each hour the gale wind will only increase and in the evening will reach 17-22 m/s, and in some places 25 m/s," he wrote in his Telegram channel.
The forecaster noted that from 17:00 to 22:00 strong winds are expected, which may lead to falling trees, damage to buildings and power lines. It is specified that by Friday the bad weather will subside.
Tishkovets added that heavy rain is expected in the capital, which may break the precipitation record. Up to 16-21 mm of precipitation (40% of the monthly norm) will fall in a few hours. At night, the rain will be replaced by wet snow.
Earlier in the day, the scientific head of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand predicted November 21 in Central Russia, including Moscow, the first snowstorm, wind gusts up to 20 m/s. According to the forecaster, on the night of Friday, November 22, precipitation will gradually stop, the temperature will be from 0 to -4 degrees.
