On December 3, the Museum of Moscow will open an exposition dedicated to the history of the city from the I millennium BC to the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. This was told by Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

According to him, visitors to the museum will be able to see "paintings, graphics, photographs, rare books, household items and decorative and applied arts". There will also be multimedia exhibits, maps and infographics.

In his Telegram Sobyanin reminded that one of the oldest museums in the city turns 128 years old this year. All this time, the mayor continued, the Museum of Moscow has been collecting artifacts related to the history of the Russian capital. These are personal archives of prominent historians and collections of famous merchant families - Bakhrushins, Syreyshchikovs, Naid'novs, Vishnyakovs, Shelaputins, Sorokoumovskys. "Archeological finds made on the territory of Moscow are also brought here," the mayor added.
