- Peskov said about contacts between Russian and Belarusian security services on the threat of a coup d'etat

Russia, within the framework of the Union State, has obligations to ensure the security of Belarus. In this regard, the special services of both states maintain contacts on the threat of a possible coup d'état in the republic. This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on November 21.
"Belarus is really facing an unfriendly environment, with potential threats to its country, the President of Belarus Alexander Grigorievich Lukashenko has repeatedly said about it, and there are constant contacts on this issue along the lines of our special services," pointed out the spokesman for the Russian leader at a briefing.
He added that this topic is also a subject of constant discussion at the highest level when the president of Belarus meets with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
"Within the framework of the Union State, we have obligations to ensure the security of allied Belarus, and these obligations repeatedly appear in the foundations of our nuclear policy, which were recently published," Peskov clarified.
Earlier, November 20, Belarusian TV channel ONT reported that the Belarusian authorities have information about the preparation of mercenaries for an attack on the territory of the country, which is being conducted in Poland and Lithuania. It is specified that the territories for the organization of the attack were identified at the junction of the borders of Belarus, Poland and Ukraine.
On November 5, the head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the country, Major General Volodymyr Kuprianyuk , said that special purpose units with armored vehicles of the National Guard of Ukraine were located near the border with Belarus. He pointed out that NATO was preparing for an open armed conflict with Belarus and Russia.
In August, Lukashenko said that there were more than 120 thousand military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border. He noted that a similar aggravation of the situation on the border was observed in early July during the preparation for the parade in Minsk, dedicated to Independence Day.
Then it was reported that the countries - members of the North Atlantic Alliance - continue to build up the military grouping near the border zone with Belarus. Units of border agencies of the EU countries neighboring with Belarus have strengthened border security, for which they have attracted the forces of their armies, special units and police.
