Russian Armed Forces fighters who liberated Novoalexeyevka were awarded the Order of Courage

Soldiers of the 80th Tank Regiment of the Center Group of Forces have been awarded the Order of Courage for liberating the village of Novoalekseevka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR).

The awards ceremony recognized the courage, bravery and heroism shown in carrying out combat tasks involving risk to life. The commander of the battalion of the Center group of troops, senior lieutenant Yegor Bas, told Izvestia correspondent Dmitry Astrakhan that his fighters worked together with other battalions to successfully carry out the task.

"To reach Novoalekseevka, we traveled more than 12 kilometers through forest belts. Part of it passed on foot, and we popped in Novoalekseevka with vehicles - two tanks, two BMPs. First of all, we installed REB, checked the route, and after that... Preparation, preparation is important. I want to mention everyone: the tankers of the 1st and 2nd battalion, my armored groups, the paratroopers, the mortars who covered us, and the artillery of the regiment. I want to recognize my motorized rifle battalion paratroopers," he said.

Sergeant, squad commander Alexei Konstantinov, who took part in the implementation of the operation, shared that his group exceeded the task assigned to them.

"The order came that I and my group should take the woodpiles and hold them until our reinforcements arrived. We took, fulfilled, even over-fulfilled. The road was not supposed to take, but we took it anyway," - said Efreyator Konstantinov.

"A stormtrooper is the only person who has seen the enemy in person!"

How the Center Group liberated Novoalekseevka on the Pokrovsky direction

The Russian Defense Ministry reported theliberation of Novoalekseevka by the fighters of the Center troops grouping unit on November 18. The enemy lost more than 500 servicemen in the battles, the ministry added in its summary.

Later, the Defense Ministry published footage of the Russian Armed Forces' combat work during the liberation of Novoalekseevka. The footage shows that servicemen, supported by an armored group, swiftly entered the forest belt and destroyed the enemy in the fortifications.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
