Artistic composition of the Italian conceptual artist Maurizio Cattelan "Comedian", in which a banana is attached to the wall with duct tape, sold at auction for $6.2 million, as reported by the auction house Sotheby's. This was announced by the auction house Sotheby's.

It is noted that the lot was purchased by a Chinese collector, cryptocurrency entrepreneur Justin Sun for $6.2 million with the original estimated value at $1-1.5 million.

"I am happy to announce that I just bought a banana. It's not just a work of art. It's a cultural phenomenon that brings together the worlds of art, memes and the cryptocurrency community," Justin Sun wrote on social network X (formerly Twitter) and added that he was honored to be the owner of the artwork.

The Italian installation "Comedian" was presented in the art gallery of the American city of Miami Beach (Florida) in 2019. At that time, the work caused a great stir, because of which the public display of the exhibit had to be stopped for security reasons, as the security guards were unable to control the crowds of visitors.
