U.S. President-elect Donald Trump plans to appoint conservative Russell Vought to the post of Director of the White House Office of Administration and Budget. This was reported by Reuters on November 20, citing anonymous sources.

During Trump's first term, Vought also held this post. The politician is going to restructure the government so that appointed conservatives have power over key decisions that are usually given to government employees.

As the media outlet notes, if Vought takes the position, he will have to actively cooperate with American entrepreneurs Ilon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, who will head the new US government efficiency department. This is because the department will have to be directly involved in the reorganization of the government.

Earlier, on November 20, Trump nominated former acting attorney general Matthew Whitaker for the post of US permanent representative to NATO. He called Whitaker a strong warrior and dedicated patriot and said he would "put America first."

On the same day, Trump proposed nominating Linda McMahon, who led the U.S. Small Business Administration during Trump's first term in office, as the nation's Secretary of Education. McMahon could have headed the U.S. Department of Commerce, but investor and billionaire Howard Lutnick was nominated for the post.
