In the Kursk border region, sappers destroyed an AFU mine dropped from a hexacopter

Engineer-sapper units of the Guards Airborne Assault Don Cossack Regiment from Feodosia of the Novorossiysk Guards Airborne Assault Mountain Compound have destroyed a modified mine of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) dropped at night on a road in the Glushkovsky district of Kursk Region from a Baba Yaga hexacopter. This was reported on November 21 in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
It is reported that paratrooper sappers, moving along a country road as part of the work on demining the liberated territories in the border areas of Kursk region from explosive objects of the AFU, found a dump - a modified KPTM, dropped from drones. The modified mine with the help of a special sensor is activated by approaching metal and when triggered can easily tear the track of armored vehicles, disable agricultural machinery or destroy a civilian car.
At the same time, sappers have difficulties in clearing such munitions because specialists with weapons and wearing body armor cannot approach such a mine. The mine is destroyed on the spot with a superimposed charge. It is also prohibited to move this munition for safety reasons.
After the destruction of the mine on the spot traffic on the country road is restored.
"We started working in Zaporozhye, now we are working in the Kursk region. There is a lot of work. They drop all sorts of remote mining, they also put ordinary anti-personnel mines, anti-tank mines," said a serviceman of the Russian Armed Forces, a sapper with the call sign Paris.
According to the Crimean paratrooper, the AFU fighters do not have specialists like the Russian army.
"They can just drive a car and throw them off the car straight placer," he added.
Earlier, on November 13, the Defense Ministry published footage of the combat work of servicemen of the demining squad of the representative office of the International Mine Action Center of the Russian Armed Forces as part of the grouping of troops "North" on demining the territories of settlements in the border area of Kursk region. It is specified that the Ukrainian militants filled populated areas, roads and fields with cluster munitions filled with foreign-made mines.
Ukrainian militants attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The operation to destroy the AFU continues.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by the Russian Federation on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
