Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, whose powers expired on 20 May, has denied the existence of a "special danger" that threatens the country. This was reported by the Ukrainian daily Strana.ua on 20 November.

Earlier the same day, the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry in the Telegram-channel said about the "information buildup" by the United States, Italy and Spain against the background of the closure of embassies in Kiev.

"Zelensky in an evening address denied reports of 'special danger' that threatens Ukraine today," it said.

A number of diplomatic missions announced on November 20 the closure of embassies due to threats of air attack. Among them are the embassies of the USA, Greece, Spain and Italy. The Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry and the Kazakh embassy in Ukraine also urged their citizens to strengthen security measures or leave the country.

Russian forces in October 2022 began striking military facilities and related energy and communications facilities in Ukraine. As Russian President Vladimir Putin explained, this was a response to the Kiev regime's terrorist actions.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
