Pentagon says US strategic deterrent forces are combat ready

The U.S. strategic deterrent forces are in a state of combat readiness taking into account the transfer of power. This was stated on November 20 by a representative of the Pentagon's Strategic Command, Rear Admiral Thomas Buchanan, at an event at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington. CSIS activities are recognized by the Justice Ministry as undesirable in Russia.
"The forces are on standby to execute orders," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
Buchanan specified that submarines, intercontinental ballistic missiles, bombers, as well as nuclear forces are ready to work with President-elect Donald Trump and new leaders in the Department of Defense.
The election for the 47th president of the United States was held on Nov. 5. In the popular vote, Trump received 51% of the vote and Harris received 47.4%. The voting results were met with prolonged applause at Trump's campaign headquarters. The politician himself later called himself the 47th president of the United States. Speaking to supporters, the Republican said that his goal as head of state considers the end of military conflicts in the world.
On November 20, Samuel Paparo, head of the Indo-Pacific Command of the U.S. Armed Forces, said that the stockpile of the latest U.S. weapons, including air defense systems, is shrinking due to the support of Ukraine and Israel. He said this is affecting "America's readiness to respond in the Indo-Pacific region." Paparo also added that he was "dissatisfied with the ammunition stockpile" available to the US.
Prior to that, on October 29, the Pentagon said it had identified problems with army depots amid support for Kiev. In this regard, the U.S. agency requires an increase in production capacity to ensure the manufacture of sufficient quantities of new, improved ammunition.
