TheUnited States should engage in a dialog with Russia, the DPRK and China in order to prevent a nuclear conflict. This was stated by the representative of the Pentagon's Strategic Command, Rear Admiral Thomas Buchanan, at an event at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington on November 20. CSIS activities are recognized by the Justice Ministry as undesirable in Russia.

"The approach of the whole government should be aimed at interaction with our rivals, at real and substantive dialog, which should not stop," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

Earlier, on November 19, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia is open to normalizing relations with the United States, but Washington must take retaliatory actions.

Prior to that, on November 16, Xi Jinping told Biden that China was ready to work with the Trump administration. China-US relations have experienced ups and downs over the past four years, but under our leadership, we have also conducted fruitful dialog and cooperation and generally achieved stability, Biden said.

In late August, newly-elected US President Donald Trump said building good relations between Russia and the US was the right approach. According to him, "getting along with Russia is good, not bad, it's smart."
