Ten people accused of logging and stealing crushed stone in the Tver region


A criminal case has been opened against an organized criminal association (OCU), which cut down a forest and stole crushed stone in the Tver region. This was reported on November 20 in the press service of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee (ICS) of Russia in the region.
According to the investigation, the leader created a community in January 2020, the total damage from the activities of which amounted to almost 9 million. In 2022 and 2023, the accused cut down trees near the village of Ustinovo, and already this year stole crushed stone from the territory of JSC "Russian Railways".
"In addition, two of the community members, while in a restaurant located in the city of Tver, gave a bribe to an official in the amount of 170 thousand rubles for knowingly illegal inaction," - specified in the Telegram-channel of the management.
Depending on their role, the detainees are accused of creating, leading and participating in an organized criminal association, theft, bribery and illegal logging. The investigation continues to establish all the circumstances of the activities of the OPS.
Earlier, November 6, a resident of Primorsky Krai was accused of smuggling timber for almost Br7 million. The investigation found that in the period from 2019 to 2021, the resident of Primorye illegally sent to China more than 705 cubic meters of Manchurian lime and white birch. A criminal case has been opened.
